This was my first assignment for National Geographic Romania, in 2004; this article covered mainly the economic policy of Ștefan cel Mare (Stephen the Great).
„Over 500 years ago, the „spice road” passed through Moldova. Stephen the Great was the first to grasp its importance and he exploited it for his benefit. Trade was one of his main state policy, for which he fought wars, made alliances, and even chose brides.” Text by Carmen Racovita.
